Entries will be accepted 3:00 - 7:00 pm on Thursday, September 3. An entry fee of .25 per entry will be charged. Exhibitor’s ticket $8.00. Entries confined to Illinois. Refer to general rules and regulations in this book. A plaque will be awarded to the Best of Show in this department.
NOTICE: All medium Red Clover, Mammoth Clover, Sweet Clover, Timothy, Millet, or other grasses mentioned in Section 1 of the Illinois Seed Law as farm seeds, when exhibited for premiums, must be tagged in accordance with the law, the same as if sold or offered for sale for feeding purposes in the state. A two-ounce sample for analysis should be sent to the State Seed Laboratory at Springfield, where it will be analyzed free of charge. Clipped oats or barley are barred from competition in this department. Exhibits in this department must be true to name and labeled. No premiums will be awarded any exhibit unless the exhibit is grown during the year shown. All grain to be shown by grower. All exhibits in this department must be from current crop with the exception of soybeans, timothy seeds, and clover seed. Grains and seed will be displayed in ½ peck containers. CONTAINERS WILL BE PROVIDED. New yellow corn will be named. Names will be displayed after judging. Entries must be worthy of showing – otherwise will not be judged.
